Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all purchases made from Sophie Pitman Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”) by customers (“you”, “your”). By placing an order through our website, social media, or directly with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Products

  • We sell original artworks, limited edition prints, apparel and illustrated merchandise designed and created by Sophie Pitman.

  • We offer a creative design service to businesses and members of the public.

  • Colours may vary slightly due to screen settings or print processes.

  • Sizes and materials are described as accurately as possible but may have minor variations.

3. Orders

  • Orders are confirmed only once payment is received.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order if the product is unavailable, incorrectly priced, or if there are issues with payment.

  • If we cancel your order, you will receive a full refund.

4. Prices & Payment

  • All prices are in GBP (£) and inclusive of UK VAT (if applicable).

  • Payment is required in full at the time of ordering.

  • We accept [insert payment methods, e.g., PayPal, debit/credit cards, bank transfer].

5. Delivery

  • We ship within the UK and internationally where possible.

  • Delivery costs and estimated times are shown at checkout.

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services, customs, or circumstances beyond our control.

  • International orders may be subject to import duties/taxes, which are the buyer’s responsibility.

6. Returns & Refunds

  • Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your online order within 14 daysof receiving the goods.

  • To cancel, please email us at [insert email] within 14 days of receipt. You must return the item(s) in unused condition within 14 days of notifying us. Return postage is at your cost unless the item is faulty.

  • Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.

  • Exceptions: We cannot accept returns of:

    • Commissioned or personalised artworks

    • Digital products (if sold)

    • Items damaged due to misuse or mishandling

7. Commissions

  • For commissioned artworks, a non-refundable deposit of 50 % is required before work begins and a contractual agreement. e

  • Remaining balance is payable before delivery.

  • Commissions are exempt from cancellation and refunds once work has begun.

  • I will keep you regularly updated throughout the commission progress.

8. Intellectual Property

  • All artworks, designs, and images remain the intellectual property of Sophie Pitman.

  • Purchasing a product does not transfer copyright.

  • You may not reproduce, copy, or resell artworks or designs without written permission.

  • All images and artwork are copyright of Sophie Pitman Studio.

9. Liability

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products.

  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the price paid for the product.

10. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

  • Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Commissions Terms & Conditions 

Sophie Pitman Studio

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all commissioned artworks created by Sophie Pitman Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”). By commissioning an artwork, you (“the Client”) agree to the following:

1. Commission Process

  • A written brief will be agreed upon between the Client and the Artist (Sophie Pitman).

  • The Artist will provide regular updates (e.g. sketches, progress images) during the creation process.

  • Any changes requested by the Client must be agreed in writing. Significant alterations outside the original brief may incur additional charges.

2. Payment Terms

  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the agreed total price is required to secure the commission.

  • Work will not begin until the deposit has been received in full.

  • The remaining 50% balance must be paid before the artwork is shipped or delivered.

  • Payment methods accepted: [insert e.g., bank transfer, PayPal, credit/debit card].

3. Delivery

  • Once the final balance has been received, the artwork will be packaged and shipped to the Client.

  • Shipping costs will be confirmed prior to final payment.

  • The Artist is not responsible for delays caused by postal/courier services or customs.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

  • The deposit is non-refundable, as it covers the Artist’s time, materials, and initial work.

  • If the Client cancels the commission after work has begun, no refunds will be issued.

  • If the Artist is unable to complete the artwork due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund (including deposit) will be given.

5. Artwork Approval

  • The Client will be shown images of the finished artwork for approval before final payment.

  • Once the final balance is paid and the artwork is shipped, no further changes can be made.

6. Copyright & Usage

  • Copyright and all intellectual property rights remain with the Artist.

  • The Client may display the commissioned artwork for personal use (e.g. in their home, personal social media with credit).

  • The artwork may not be reproduced, resold, or used for commercial purposes without the Artist’s written consent.

  • The Artist retains the right to use images of the commissioned work for portfolio, promotional, and marketing purposes.

7. Liability

  • The Artist takes great care in packaging artwork but is not liable for damage once the artwork has been dispatched.

  • Insurance can be arranged at the Client’s request and cost.

8. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

  • Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

By paying the deposit, the Client confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
